No Forensics Today (Friday, November 11)
Forensics is canceled today (Friday, November 11th).  Mr. Schaufler will be out of the building for the day.  We will resume next week.  Thank you.
New Schedule

The following is a letter meant to go out on Friday, but printer problems caused delays.

11/4/2011

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Due to the large turn out for Forensics we will be breaking up the group according to categories.  We will also be adding Monday to the practice week.  Here is the following Schedule:

Monday:

  • Serious Solo
  • Humorous Solo
  • Infomercial

Tuesday:

  • Group Acting (Green)

Friday:

  • Prose
  • Poetry
  • Group Acting (Orange)

I will be posting the groups on Monday for those signed up for the Group Acting.  Students will find this information on the Brown Deer Forensics Website and/or on the door of Room 205.

This will allow each student to spend time working on their piece and an opportunity to work with me without distraction.  This also means that students will usually have Forensics practice once (1) a week.

I will inform parents when students must attend more than one Forensics practice a week.  This will probably occur when approaching Tournament Dates and when the student pieces become more polished and ready for viewing.

Thank you for your patience and I’m very excited to be working with such a mature and talented group of students!  Please feel free to call or email if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely

Mr. Schaufler

Questions and Issues
Hello Forensics Crew!

I have received several emails and phone calls regarding schedules and joining Forensics.

Here are a few answers to these questions:

Can I still join Forensics?  Yes.  The cut-off is November 1st.

What if I can't be at every practice?  Talk to your coach and come to one practice a week.  Other arrangements are possible if you discuss this with your coach.

When is practice?  Tuesday and Friday from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM.
(Practice was changed from Thursday to Friday due to student conflicts).

Who do I contact if I have more questions?  Mr. Schaufler in Room 205.  Do not ask him questions on Tuesday or Friday after school.  Knock on his door any other day.  You can contact him via phone or email at 11:30 AM or 3:15 PM (except Tues. & Fri.).
